I have to say that Tuesdays have definitely become my favorite day of the week. Each one starts with a 9am meeting with my Real Estate team. Then I get to spend the next 3 hours traveling around, looking at houses and getting more and more familiar with all the many beautiful areas of LA. The more I drive around, the more my passion, interest and love of real estate grows. I'm fascinated by how much creativity and beauty exists on street after street (and hill after hill) in this city. That's the thing about Los Angeles, many people hate it because it can be so ugly and bland on the exterior, but when you get to really see what's there - up the roads and behind so many doors - it's actually quite amazing and for me, just plain inspiring......
Here's some of today's discoveries:
1) First stop was this remodeled side by side duplex in PicFair Village (South of Pico, West of Hauser - near Fairfax). Since rental properties are usually dreary, I was eager to see this one which looked anything but.... $699,000 2 bedrm/2 bath on one side; 2 bedrm, 1 bath on the other.

2) Next stop was this very sweet house on Stearns, South of Pico. The listing agent was serving pulled pork sandwiches and coleslaw which her husband had made for the Open House. It was exactly what I needed to get me through the rest of caravanning - a great touch and very yummy. 2 Bedrooms/1 Bath $585,000.

3) Then I stopped to see this newly renovated 2 story 5 bedroom/4.5 bathroom Spanish contemporary in the Miracle Mile area (North of Wilshire/W. of Crescent Heights). This house was what I would call a party palace - there were at least 4 large areas (both indoors and outdoors) that could be used to entertain. The entire second story was devoted to a huge master suite with a spacious terrace that had a beautiful view of the city and canyons. I'd love to see what it looked like up there at night.

4) From there I headed up to the Hollywood hills. Unfortunately, I came home to discover that there were no interior pics yet available of my favorite house of the day - this one in the Bronson Canyon area 3 Bedroom, 2 Bathrooms $850,000. You can't really tell much from this exterior photo, but I'm committed to finding more that I'll post later. I was really fond of the way this house was decorated and I'd love to share it here!
This shot is from another house in Bronson Canyon that I saw today. I really loved how this cut out window made the view of the Hollywood sign one of the unique features of this house. Really clever!
Finally, another reason my Tuesdays have been so fun, is that after all the work of viewing houses I feel well deserving of a sweet. This is probably due to my latest obsession with watching Cupcake Wars (Yes, Cupcake Wars - don't ask me why, but I'm fascinated with all the things these bakers do with little cakes) and it's left me on the hunt to try every bakery in town. Today I found myself at Lark Cake Bakery on Sunset (in Silverlake). Here's a photo of my very satisfying treat.
